Frontend Developer (Video)

About the Role:

This role is for a Frontend Developer and will suit an independent, collaborative, and experienced team member with a background in the Video/OTT industry, in-depth knowledge of MSE (Media Source Extension and EME (Encrypted Media Extension), and a natural eye for excellent web and mobile UI/UX. You will be a natural leader that enjoys mentoring/training junior developers, be comfortable taking the lead and making decisions, be a natural, creative thinker, and possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of technical architecture, coding, and development standards
• Produce high quality, re-usable code, and ensure best practices are followed by the team you lead
• Create new and enhance existing features and code according to requirements
• Take the lead in Sprint Planning and Retrospective sessions
• Work closely with the product management team to produce accurate estimates and clarification
• Ensure the production of design artifacts, as well as the creation of accurate documentation

Required Experience:

• At least 3-5 years’ experience working as Developer on enterprise level software, with in-depth experience using Javascript, React and RXJS
• Proven experience in the video industry, with in-depth knowledge of MSE (Media Source Extension and EME (Encrypted Media Extension)
• Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and Typescript
• Good working knowledge of OOP
• Experience with Webpack
• Knowledge of video players, e.g. Shaka Player/Packager
• Ample working experience in an Agile environment, developing/designing enterprise level software
• Exposure to Git, GitHub, GitFlow etc
