React Native/Mobile Developer

About the Role:

This role will suit an independent, collaborative, and experienced Android or iOS Developer, with comparable experience in React Native, a background (or a keen interest) in the Video/OTT industry and, a natural eye for excellent UI/UX. This is a permanent role with Ovyo and will require you to work on-site initially, with opportunity for remote work after 12 months.

Responsibilities:

• Develop high-quality, reusable, and scalable code
• Provide guidance on implementation and design best practices
• Produce design artifacts i.e., class diagrams and sequence diagrams for Android apps features or client solutions
• Implement product features, and enhance existing code
• Participate in Agile sprint planning sessions
• Assist the Product Mgmt. team with high-level estimation and clarification of technical implementation of features
• Prepare software packages for deployment
• Generating product documentation for releases
• Mentor junior developers throughout the SDLC

Requirements:

• At least 3-5 years’ experience for Mid-Level Developers, and at least 6 years plus for Senior Developers
• For Android - designing and implementing enterprise grade software using Java for Android, Android API’s and libraries and the React Native framework
• For iOS - designing and implementing enterprise grade software using iOS mobile development, iOS apps and the React Native framework
• Experience using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript and REST APIs (for Android apps)
• Experience working with code obfuscation & encryption techniques
• Experience with distributed multi-tier infrastructure

• ExoPlayer/OTT video players
• HLS, DASH etc.
• Media players (for mobile platforms)
• Kotlin
• Framework/library development
• Git, GitHub and Git Flow
• UI/UX implementation on Android
• Automated testing on Android
