Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining applications for various Roku platforms
• Creating new features/functionality of existing apps, and debugging/troubleshooting issues within applications
• Optimizing application performance and user experience
• Staying up to date with the latest developments in the Roku platform and related technologies
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation for applications
• Participating in code reviews and ensuring code quality and adhering to development best practices and guidelines
• Creating, testing, and deploying applications to the Roku Channel Store

Requirements:

• At least 3-5 years of Roku Development experience with strong proficiency in Brightscript
• Thorough understanding of the SceneGraph framework and its core principles
• Experience with the Roku SDK and development tools, such as Eclipse, Atom, and/or Visual Studio Code
• Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Understanding of video streaming protocols and formats, such as HLS, DASH, and MP4
• Familiarity with Design Patterns such as MVC and MVVM
• Experience with integrating REST API's, XML, VAST and JSON
• Experience integrating with third party libraries like Analytics, Advertising etc.
• Practice of Unit Testing, and build, submission, and certification process of Roku applications
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git and build automation systems
• Roku Ad Framework experience and In-App Purchases experience (Roku Pay)
• Deep linking experience and strong threading experience
• Custom UI and Custom player development
• Experience with full app release procedure
• Experience with analytics platforms like Google Analytics and with streaming videos, video on demand and DRM
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with other streaming platforms such as Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV
• Experience with cloud technologies and infrastructure
